Ingredients

Willie's are committed to bringing you 100% natural products with absolutely NO chemicals, mineral or petroleum oils, artificial fragrances or preservatives.  You can also be assured that all the oils used are high quality and cold pressed from the plant.

beeswaxBeeswax - is produced by honey bees when gathering nectar and is then used to build the honey comb.  Willie's source unbleached beeswax from New Zealand and is of the highest quality.  It has not been stripped of its natural goodness nor had anything added to it which is why it still retains its colour and lovely honey aroma.  New Zealand beeswax is what gives our Dread Wax its strong hold, it's a wonderful emulsifier and acts as a barrier to seal nutrients into the hair.

hempseedoilHemp Seed Oil (cannabis sativa) - is absolutely LOADED with goodness and we have sourced a very high quality, cold pressed, unrefined oil from the South Island of New Zealand.  Its unique combination of the omega 3 and 6 essential fatty acids makes it excellent for dry skin and hair, and its anti-inflammatory properties are effective against an irritated scalp.

sheabutterShea Butter (butyrospermum parkii) - a natural fat from the nuts of the Karite tree which grows wild in Central and West Africa.  It has a lovely creamy buttery texture which melts at body temperature and absorbs easily.  It is highly valued for its rich moisturising and emollient properties, provides protection from the sun's UV rays, heals irritated skin and works wonders on particularly course dry hair.  Willie's use organic, unrefined shea butter.

coconutOrganic Coconut Oil (cocos nucifera) - one of the best natural products for the hair and skin!  For the hair it maintains strong healthy growth, conditions, adds shine and provides essential proteins to nourish damaged hair.  Coconut oil is amazing for your skin as it combats dryness and premature ageing.

Organic Virgin Coconut Oil (cocos nucifera) - as above except that it has retained the delicious coconut smell.

jojobaJojoba Oil (simmondsia sinensis) - is actually wax as it becomes solid when chilled.  It is used extensively in skin and hair products and is particularly beneficial for dry scalps as it has a similar chemical make-up to sebum (secreted by our skin to protect and hydrate) and its anti-inflammatory myristic acid content.  It is highly moisturising and healing, has a gorgeous rich feel and has an extremely long shelf life.

oliveoilExtra Virgin Olive Oil (olea europaea) - one of nature's true gifts this highly nutritious oil has been used for centuries as a beauty treatment for skin and hair by all those gorgeous Mediterranean women. Extra virgin (meaning the highest grade) olive oil is bursting with vitamins, anti-oxidants, essential fatty acids and is a fantastic treatment for itchy and flaky scalps due to the high content of oleic acid.

walnutWalnut Oil (juglans regia) - cold pressed from the kernel of the walnut this is a highly nourishing oil especially for dark hair due to its deep golden brown colour. Interesting to note the meaning of its botanical name....juglans means 'Godlike' and regia means 'royal'.

macademiaMacadamia Nut Oil (macadamia ternifolia) - AKA the Australian Bush Nut, this highly nourishing and rich emollient is brilliant for dry skin and hair due to the high levels of the skin lipid palmitoleic acid - which decrease in our skin as we age.  It has a high resistance to rancidity and can protect your hair against the damaging effects of the sun.

vitamin-eVitamin E (d-alpha tocopherol) - is an all-natural powerful antioxidant so it combats 'free radical' damage to skin and hair caused by pollution, the environment, stress or if our immune system is compromised. In addition to that it acts as an effective natural preservative for all the Willie's waxes.

waterPurified distilled water - used as a non-alcoholic base for the Willie's Conditioning Spritz's.

coconut2Vegetable Glycerine, Coconut derived - is a compound from coconut or palm oil (we have chosen coconut derived glycerine due to the in-sustainability of palm products).  It is a strong humectant meaning it retains moisture well, so it's highly beneficial for dry, brittle hair and preventing breakage and split ends.

colloidalsilverColloidal Silver - a liquid suspension of silver particles which is a natural, non-toxic anti-biotic with no harmful side-effects.  It was commonly used in the early 1900's until pharmaceutical companies introduced anti-biotics as we know them today.  As it is such a powerful germ buster, we have chosen it as a natural preservative for our spritz's....just like the pioneer's, who placed a silver coin in water tanks to prevent any unwanted organisms from growing, and in bottles of milk to keep it fresh.

Essential oils have a range of therapeutic benefits encompassing the whole body, but here we have mentioned the benefits relating to why these oils were chosen for our products.

rosemaryRosemary (rosmarinus officinalis) - has a fresh, herbaceous aroma and is one of the best known tonics for dark hair and may help encourage hair growth.  Something also worth mentioning is that it stimulates the brain and central nervous system and is great for headaches (awesome for when ya locks start feeling heavy!).

orangesOrange (citrus sinensis) - this sweet refreshing oil is a great compliment to rosemary.

chamomileChamomile, Roman (anthemis nobilis) - associated with fair hair due to the beautiful golden colour of chamomile flowers.  Also very soothing.

lemonsLemon (citrus limonum) - citrusy and fresh, lemon has been used as a tonic to brighten fair hair.

cedarwoodCedarwood Atlas (cedrus atlantica) - with an earthy, woody aroma, its astringent and antiseptic properties are highly recommended for alleviating dandruff, seborrhoea of the scalp and can strengthen hair growth.

geraniumGeranium (pelargonium graveolens) - smells delightful and is really effective for any kind of inflammatory skin conditions.  It also has a balancing effect on the skin which therefore helps to alleviate dryness.

limeLime - (citrus aurantifolia) - fresh and uplifting and goes great with the virgin organic coconut in our Caribbean Bliss Hair & Body Balm.  When used on the skin it helps to tone due to its astringent properties, and may assist with fluid retention and cellulite (bonus!).
